I am planning a 3CX install using a EXSi host onsite, local to the client network.

We will be using Lumen /AKA Century Link, which shows as a 3CX supported SIP trunk provider, for the SIP service delivery.

We were told by Century Link /AKA Lumen that they need to point their SIP service to an SBC onsite, they cannot point directly to the 3CX public IP address.

I understand that the 3CX SBC is for phones only, not to have SIP traffic delivered to it.

Can i instead have Lumen put THEIR hardware SBC onsite, locally in their network, and register the SIP service in the 3CX to the local address of the SIP provider SBC?

Thank you,
Matt

Yes, this is the correct way to do it.
