Hi,

We're looking at using the custom JSON integration to interact with our CRM (ACT!). I can't seem to find simple information about what commands can be issued from 3CX. We are writing the interface ourselves at the ACT! side of things so we can make it do whatever we like.

For example, we would like to be able to open a contact in the CRM by pressing a button or keyboard shortcut while in a call, not automatically on answer.

Is this possible? Is there somewhere I should be looking for the list of situations that the 3CX client will call the ACT API?

In order to integrate 3CX with an unsupported CRM, you need to create a template following this guide:
https://www.3cx.com/docs/crm-integration/

This integration works as follows:
  • When an inbound call arrives, the contact will be taken from your CRM and imported into 3CX Contacts.
  • When the contact is not found in the CRM, it will be automatically created (depending on configuration).
  • The contact name will be shown as the caller name, no matter the phone you use.
  • If you use the 3CX Web Client, it will automatically open the contact record in a new browser tab. This can also be configured to avoid opening the contact automatically, and instead it will show a button that you can click to open the contact:
11350
- When the call ends, a new call activity will be created in the CRM (depending on configuration).

Kind regards.

Great, that's exactly what I was after. You've pretty much just sold us on 3CX vs a competitor.
