Having difficulty getting the Originator's Called ID to be preserved on forwarded calls to Mobile. (Every forwarded to call to my cell looks like its coming from my main office #)

BACKGROUND:

Same VOIP/SIP Provider for the last 11 Years, they support this function and I have used it with Asterisk and Grandtream in the past. Not working once I switched to 3CX.

I have tried setting

From : User Part --> "OriginatorCallerID"
From : Display Name --> "OriginatorCallerID"
Remote Party ID - Calling Party : User Part --> "OriginatorCallerID"
Remote Party ID - Calling Party : Display Name --> "OriginatorCallerID"

Can anyone shed some experience on how to get this working.

Thanks!
Keith

You should not change any settings of your trunk unless you want to create issues.

Have you tried using 302 Call Deflection in your extensions?

302 Call Deflection requires me to set the status of my extension to "Away", no?

I won't be able to consistently set my status.

Is there another way to set this up?

Why not use the mobile app? It will show the correct caller ID.

If you are in Available and enable Ring mobile simultaneously, what CID does it shows on your phone?

That's what I've been doing. Answering a call on the 3cx app is spotty, the call quality is usually not great as it relies on my 3G data. So, I've been using it just to see the caller ID and then choose to answer or not when it forwards to my cell.

It's a hack solution though, this is not something I would ever sit down with a customer and want to explain how to do.

Your answer seems to be the common road this discussion goes down...

Maybe we can just stick to the original question.

Request:

Thanks,

There must be a way honestly, but since I never needed this I didn't search far.

However, if there is really a way, documentation would be nice.

From : User Part --> "OriginatorCallerID"
works for me using Flowroute.

Which provider are you using? Someone else may have had the same issue with them.

I have previously used a provider that did pass on the correct caller ID, for the same situation. They claimed that they made no changes, but it stopped working at one point. They finally admitted that they were using a new provider for the trunking to the PSTN network. The new provider would not correctly pass the original callers number and they could not remedy the situation.
Not saying it will be the same situation in your case, but worth checking to see if anything did change, at your providers end. they should also be able to confirm , in which field, they want the caller ID.

unless your sip provider lets you spoof caller id, this is not going to happen.
