Hello,

I am a user of the wonderful 3CX platform.
Just wanted to report a potential issue in the V18 update.
My case is that my SIP-Trunk needs to use the "-" character in the Outbound Caller ID.
Since V18 this character is not allowed in that field.

See screenshot attached, saying:

Only following characters allowed: A-Z a-z 0-9 + #

It would be nice if 3CX allowed this character again, I am sure I am not the only one facing this problem.

Why is your provider requiring this? It shouldn't be if they are a supported provider.

Otherwise, try changing the outbound parameter (ask the provider to know which one) and set is as Custom Field. The value there should be valid.

Who is your provider? Do they require the - character in the number field, or the name field? In either case, it seems odd.

Indeed V18 has better validations for numbers as users copy and pasting numbers with special characters resulted in failed calls so we added validations to avoid that issue. Having said that the validation is pretty open and all our supported providers work within these limits. I would speak with your provider to see if this can be avoided.
