I have a 3CX system that serves a few different entities. There are a few extensions that need to be able to make calls "from" these different entities DIDs. i.e., The outbound Caller ID will depend on the call being made, not based on the extension they are calling from. It will be different for different calls.

I was hoping I could setup outbound rules like "Dial 9 for outbound CID from Entity 1", "Dial 8 for outbound CID from Entity 2", etc. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any way to set the Caller ID from the outbound rules. Anyone have any other clever thoughts on how to do this? Could there be a way to setup different line instances on BLFs that have some kind of outbound Caller ID rule?

Note: All DIDs are on the same SIP trunk, so I can't set the rule there. 3CX also won't let me create multiple SIP trunks to the same provider (Flowroute, in this case).

Thanks for any thoughts anyone can share.

There are only 3 ways you can affect the outbound caller ID: (1) assigning to a trunk, (2) assigning to an extension, or (3) assigning to an emergency number. You cannot change it based on the number dialed.

However, there should be a way to set up a second trunk with flowroute so you can take the approach you outlined above.

Thanks for the clarification. I was able to add a second (and third) trunk by switching from SIP credential authentication to IP authentication. I should've figured that out earlier, but all is good now!
