Hi everyone,

I have read many posts here in the forum about CallerID forwarding.
Most people still to have the same problem as me.
My setup is as 3CX recommends.
I would like a help to write an email to my VoIP provider on how to release CallerID to be forwarded.
I have no idea how to ask them the right question.

Could you help me with that?

Best regards,
Daniel Tauil

the call is being forwarded not from the provider but from your pbx.
so it is required that you are able to spoof caller id.
this feature is not very common for many reasons.

So you're saying that it's impossible to do forwarding of CallerID?

You are looking for a trunk provider that dose not limit outgoing calls to did's in your inventory. aka spoofing.

Search on google for providers that let you do this.

Hello @Daniel Tauil

What you are describing and what is requested in the Ideas thread is different. What you want is possible to do through the PBX but your provider needs to support this and you need to setup the PBX correctly. Are you using a supported provider? https://www.3cx.com/partners/sip-trunks/
If you do check if your provider supports Clip no screening. If you do not then you need to learn if they support clip no screening and what sip field they want the caller ID presented. Once you have all the information then you can set it up in the PBX.

Hi YiannasH,

I'm using NET Sip here in Australia.
I can see in your table that NET SIP doesn't have support for Clip no screening.
Well, with this provider I can't do what I need, is it correct? The best way is to change the service provider.
It was what I understood.

NET SIP answer:

Good afternoon,

Your account does not block original caller ID.

However, you will have to configure your 3CX PBX to call forward using original caller ID.

Wing

Our tests showed that Clip No screening is not supported however it could be an extra service they offer. In that case you can change the values of:
From: Display Name
From: User Part
P-Asserted Identity : Display Name
P-Asserted Identity : User Part

and set them as: :OriginatorCallerID: Original Caller Number will be sent"

Give it a try and see if that works for you

Thank you Yiannish,

I did the setup but it still does the same thing.
I'm in touch with NET SIP to try to find a solution.

Hi Yiannish, this is the 3CX answer.

Updated Details
Good afternoon,

Thank you for your email and the call sample details.

I have attached the PCAP for the 13:21 diverted call.

You can open the PCAP with wireshark.

If you open packet number 5 (SIP invite from 103.100.225.37 to 103.26.173.36), it show all the SIP data of your outbound call.

The caller ID included in the invite is From: "0731937348"<sip:[email protected];".

Please find the screenshot for your reference.

The 0731937348 caller ID is provided by your 3CX.

Thank you very much for your attention.

Check this link out: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/call-forwarding-preserve-caller-number.60620/#post-255868

NetSIP support the use of P-Asserted Identity.

Wing

My inbound was setup like this.

I change for this:

and together with the outbound configuration is now working perfectly.

Thank you very much Yiannish!

Glad to see the issue has been resolved and thank you for updating the thread with your solution. I would recommend using the 3CX template to setup supported providers next time as your settings are nothing like the default template.
