I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I'm using flowroute and have Cnam storage on my DID with them. It's been weeks so I assume it has propagated. In my trunk if I leave Default caller ID blank I see the DID when receiving calls from my 3CX system. If I enter our business name I see unknown caller. If I enter any other number, for instance just a single 9, that is the number I see on my cell phone.
How do I get the business name to show up when the 3CX system calls my cell phone?
https://www.3cx.com/docs/cid-reformatting/ didn't seem to help. I guess my next step is to go into parameters but I think that is the same as changing Default caller ID in the trunk.
DID lookup is based on the caller id if I recall.
So, on outbound calls, send the number assigned to the CNAM Lookup.
Sending a 9 has '9' to lookup and compare.
In North America, I do not think you can send text.
On cell phones - it's a whole different boat. AFAIK, most of them do not do CNAM lookups. I could be wrong. I'm on Verizon. Unless the number is a contact in my phone, all I get is the number.
This part is really easy, just put the number, and name, in your phones directory. As far as getting the name to display on everyone else's call display...that's going to be a bit more tricky. You provider must allow you to send name display, or must have the name programmed against your service, so that it is sent when you place a call. At the receiving end, if no name is sent, the terminating provider (many mobile companies do not send name display), may do a look-up of the number, and return a name associated with it. So, you are relying on the terminating company to.do a lookup, and a name being in the database that they subscribe to.
