Trying to properly solve an issue. I have read some forum posts -a bunch actually, and found some web sites that discuss using outbound dialing rules to change CID depending on a dialed prefix. I read that dialing prefix rules should be underneath the main rule(s). When I put the prefix rules under the main dialing rule the call it fails, but when I move it above the main rule it does work as expected. Is that okay to do? This is what I have to do make it work
First rule
Start prefix: 999
Extensions: blank
Numbers length 13,14
Select the one trunk we have
Strip digits: 3
CID: 5555551111
Second rule: Same as above with 998 prefix
Third rule: Main outbound rule
4th rule: international dialing prefix rule
This setup works and everything seems normal. Is this order of rules nothing to be concerned about? ANY thoughts are greatly appreciated. I am no expert.
