Hello,

I have setup a self-hosted 3CX PBX VM via Amazon AWS and I am using Amazon Chime for my SIP trunk. I have everything setup, but it appears that I have some type of issue making outbound calls with my 2N intercom device. It seems like it's a networking issue, however, there are some inconsistencies which make me wonder if it's something else. So this is the issue that is happening for me specifically when using the 2N intercom:

When on our internal office network, I can make an outbound call to myself no problem. The intercom rings with a dial tone, I answer on my cell phone (Android/Verizon), and I can hear audio pass through no problem. Similarly, when I call a coworker on their cell phone (iPhone/T-Mobile), the intercom dials out and I can hear the audio pass through. Where the issue stems is when I make an outbound call with the intercom and I call Verizon iPhones. Instead of a dial tone, I'm hearing an intercom beep on the intercom and when the caller answers their cell phone, no audio passes through the cell phone or intercom.

I've worked with 2N on this and they did a wireshark showing that the audio gets sent out of the intercom. I have also worked with our internal networking folks and they have the intercom port on a VLAN that has nothing being blocked in or out. One thing that confirms that is when I call out to verizon or t-mobile, some of the calls are making it through with audio being heard.

When I bypass our internal office network and connect the intercom to an Inseego Wavemaker 5G indoor router (FX2000), all outbound calls work when using the intercom to call any cell phone. The intercom tone is still heard with the Verizon iPhones, but when answered, audio can be heard on both ends. So it seems like something needs to get whitelisted somewhere but I can't tell if that would be on the PBX, the trunk, or on our internal network. When looking at call logs, everything appears fine sine the call can be answered on both ends, it just seems like the audio isn't making it.

Has anyone had an issue like this before? Does anyone have a recommendation?

Thanks,

Dan
