Hi,

We have a customer that wants a kind of panic button on their phones.
What it should do: when an employee has an aggressive customer the employee can press a BLF key on his phone. At that point a group of people will be called and the one that picks up first can listen to the other side but not speak. From the phone that initiates the call (where the aggressive customer is) there should be no dial tone when the employee presses the BLF key.

Customer had this on his old PBX and we see this functionality on other PBX's also but not in 3CX.
Is there some work-around anyone knows of? Or is it possible to create this using the Call Flow Designer?

The customer has Yealink T33 phones and is on 3CX v18 update 3 (hosted in cloud).

Thanks for any help,

@VoIPTools That sounds like something you may have or be able to do.

You could try creating a multicast paging group. This will activate the call but no beep will be sent. Then the other extensions could listen in and not be able to respond back to the person. You would define the BLF key as a custom speed dial with the Multicast group as the number.

We implemented panic buttons in our 3CX Emergency Notifier tool, but it works a little differently than your requirements. It starts as a BLF on your phone. When pressed, it contacts the specified list of people by phone (text-to-speech), email, text, and desktop popup. You define what the message should say. For example, "There is a problem at the front reception desk".

I think @NicholasP_3CX has a good suggestion too. We might be able to fold his suggestion into our solution so you get the benefits of both approaches.
