Hi ,
I am new to 3cx and have installed a pro version in Azure cloud (there are no local users and everybody including me access by the public address.)
Everything is working fine but when users get messages to download reports, the message gives the public link but also a message saying that if you are on the local network you can download from 10.0.0.4
Looking in settings I find the following lines:
CMEXTERNALADDRESS Call Manager External address 40.XX.YYY.ZZ

CMEXTERNALINTERFACE Call Manager External interface 10.0.0.4
Is it OK to change the external interface (to 40.xxxxx) as call manager External interface without breaking something i have not foreseen ?
Thanks

I don't understand exactly what is your goal ? to DL your reports or to avoid them being donwloaded.
Normally both ways works being on Lan or not .
Don't change any internal settings without certitude on what you are doing.

Hi There,
Thanks for your prompt reply - (also French but English will attract more views)

The PBX is in AZURE cloud and ALL users are scattered all over the world. Some from home and some in offices. All of them can access the public IP but none can access the local range 10.0.x.x which is the local IP in the cloud.
The office IP is the one of their local network 10.xx or 192.xx or whatever their ISP has set their router to.

When they get the 3cx e-mail for downloading the for example weekly call report, the mail contains alink to the public ip (which works fine) and also a sub paragraph telling the user that if is at the office (not in cloud) he can download the file by clicking on the following link (which points to the cloud cloud local ip (10.0.x.x)of the pbx.

As of course this does not work, they keep calling or emailing support complaining that something is not working.

What I want to achieve is to get rid of all the complaints.

The Two solutions I have envisaged are:
1) edit the e-mail template to get rid of the part of the message that points to the 10.0.x.x (which I have now implemented)
and
2) change the interface
CMEXTERNALINTERFACE Call Manager External interface 10.0.0.4
from 10.0.0.4 to the public IP which they can access.
Which is safer ?
Thanks / Regards

Choose option 1 ;)

Thanks again -
