Patton 4141 FXO to AWS via 3CX SBC

I know this deployment is unsupported but I've ready some success stories on this topic. The guys that has success, are afk. Has someone else done this and got it working? Just looking for some guidance.

While an FXS gateway can be setup, to work, behind an SBC, it becomes more complicated with FXO trunks, in particular, routing outbound calls to the gateway, from 3CX as the IP to use, is taken from the trunk settings, and not registration information. Are you able to use VPN so that both appear to be on the same network?

Reach out to Patton they have pretty good tech support. It will work with 3cx template if you use a site to cloud vpn and setup default gateway on Patton too.

as trying to stay away from VPN as the cost can quickly add up.

I'd also love to hear how to make this work. I'm trying to get an old analogue door entry system to connect to 3cx. I've tried all sorts of things with a fxs the grandstream ht801 with no joy so I'm going to try the grandstream fxo gxw-4104. The door entry works fine through the old avaya ip office 500. I can get an analogue phone to work fine behind the ht801 but the door entry just stops.

Just a note here, that an FXO gateway is designed to accommodate Telco lines (Analog, ISDN BRI, and ISDN PRI).

Adding a SIP endpoint to an FXO gateway will not have a signal and it will do absolutely nothing.

FXO = Telco lines
FXS = Analog devices (Telephones, modems, faxes, and other 1900s technologies)

Not being able to connect this analog door entry system to the FXS gateway might just be a simple pinout issue. Can you get a dial tone directly from the gateway?

I'd suggest reaching out to Grandstream for assistance, and then once the analog portion is sorted, proceed to configure it with a SIP extension.

FXO gateways should only be used on an On-Premises deployment of 3CX.
FXS gateways can be connected via the 3CX SBC. The SBC connection is designed for connecting endpoints to 3CX, and not Telco Lines

The current door entry doesn't have a telephone line either but it has this videx 380n just hits a card in the avaya and dials the 198 ring group. My ht801 is working fine in either standard dial mode or off hook authorial when used with an analogue phone. I'm just not getting anything useful from the videx. I've read through the manual and spoken with videx who say I need to set the videx in divert mode and program the hunt group number. Who know, worth a go. Thanks.

If the Videx 380n acts as a standard analogue phone, then it should have no issue seizing dialtone of the HT801. The ATA can be programmed to dial the ring group number when the line goes off-hook. the alternative, which it sounds as if you've been instructed to do, is have the Videx dial a number. In either case, you are first going to have to confirm that there is a line seizure, at the ATA, when the door button is pressed. Since you already know it works with an analogue phone,it very well may be, as suggested, a wiring issue between the videx and the ATA
