All my extensions are G729 licensed "on board" (Linksys SPA941).

I would understand if I need to set the "PBX delivers Audio" checkbox on or off and what about the same setup in the provider section (my provider support G729 too).

Thank you for clarification.

Best regards

Hello,
If you have free version do not set it to yes
because no g729 in free version

I have the licensed version (4 licenses).

I want know if that option affect the g729 licenses consuming.

Thank you

yes it is
so you can use it if you need
but with out it better

If you paid for 3CX mini you need to communicate with 3CX directly about your licensing to confirm what you should do in this situation.

I thought I need to buy support to contact 3cx directly.

How can I contact 3cx staff ?

Thank you

PBX delivers audio simply means that the PBX must proxy audio for that extension. This setting should almost always be enabled for your voip line. For an extension you may or may not enable this, but it doesnt effect the codecs you can use. If you enable this, then the PBX will proxy all audio for that extension, even if speaking between extensions on the same network which normally, happens directly between the endpoints. But, again, if both endpoints support G729, this isnt necessary.

In the end, you shoudlnt need to enable PBX delivers audio for the extnesions just to support G729. This should be enabled on your VoIP trunk though since the PBX must proxy all audio over the trunk.

Best,

Mike

Hi Mike, and thank you for reply.

My 3cx is hosted on a dedicated server with public ip address. All the extensions (Linksys SPA941 - G729 licensed) are remote , behind router, and different ip address.

I would limit best I can the 3cxn G729 license usage.

If I set on every voip line the option "PBX Delivery Audio" and enable ONLY G711 codec (so 3cx don't use license for it), and set the option "Pbx Delivery Audio" on the extensions , could I obtain the result ?

In other words... coul I limit the G729 license usage ONLY for the extensions ?

Thank you and excuse me if I misunderstood your clarifications.
English is not my mother language.... :-)
