Have a problem where I'm trying to remove a phone from an extension so I can set it up for hot desking.

But, try as I might, it will not relinquish its association with the original extension.

I go into the extension, change to 'phone provisioning'
Select the phone from the dropdown
click on delete
click on 'OK' at the top of the page to save changes

I even go back into the extension to confirm the phone isn't listed anymore; and on extensions there's only 1 phone listed under 'phones'

I go into 'Phones' and the phone is still showing as bound to the extension, if I check the box next to it I have the option to 'edit ext' or 'password' available - everything else is greyed out.
Hitting 'edit ext' or just clicking the phone's entry takes me back to the extension that I just deleted the phone from.

The weird thing is that I can go on to create a HD using the mac address and it shows as 'available' but if I go back to Phones that same mac address is still listed as per above.

not sure if handset is ready for hot desking or not :-/

You try to re-assign a normal extension phone to a hot desking one ? I think a reset of the phone could be a fast way to make him disappear from system !

Hi Richard,

You just forgot the last step to factory reset the phone, as it remains registered after you remove it because it still has the correct credentials.

Once done, you can add it to the HotDesking section, and then return to Phones section to find it in bold. As soon as you select it and assign it, you will get a notification that it will be assigned to a HotDesking extension, and it will proceed to autoprovision.

Shortly after, you will be ready to log in and start using it. Let us know how it goes
