Phone Template Out of Date

Fairly new to 3CX and have pretty much implemented ourselves. This is first time system updates is displaying message that our Yealink phone templates are out of date. System wide we use T48S. Is it ok to download this update and is there any impact expected to the system users? Installed version is 109356 and online version is 109361. I read some threads that said that firmware and templates are two independent things. I have a couple of remote phones that have 3rd party phone firmware as a work around SSL issue. Just confirming that updating the templates doesnt impact firmware as I may lose my remote users.

Hi,

The template was updated to change the ringtones behavior only.

This was necessary because Yealink's recent firmware updates made a small change in the ringtone order, and we updated the template to make the phones behave just like before

However, it doesn't really matter in your case since you say you have 3rd party firmware, making the phone unsupported to begin with, but I do not expect that it will affect you based on the change made.


By the way, if you use a 3CX FQDN (rather than a custom one) the firmware we release is guaranteed to work with the SSL certificates we generate, so there is nothing preventing you from using our supported firmware and templates combo in this case.
