Phone Template with no MAC address

QUESTION: Is there a parameter in custom templates to bypass the 3CX requirement to enter a MAC address?

After building a custom template, I have Mitel SIP-DECT phones deploying nicely but 3CX requires a MAC address for each phone. Instead of having to enter a unique "dummy" MAC address each time (see below), can the MAC address entry requirement be bypassed?

NOTE:

• I understand how/why MAC address is normally used for IP phone deployment.
• Mitel SIP-DECT doesn't use a MAC address for the config filename or parameters.
• I also understand that the MAC address may be used for "security by obscurity".

I should add that I noticed there's no requirement for MAC address when adding a "Generic IP Phone". I'm basically hoping to achieve the same when using a custom template.

Without going into too much detail, Mitel SIP-DECT SIP signaling comes from one MAC address.

From 3CX perspective, it simply registers hundreds of SIP endpoints to 3CX. This part is working fine. Unlike individual SIP phones, the SIP-DECT system supports provisioning based on the extn no, not the MAC address. My custom template generates a configuration file %%extension_number%%.cfg which includes all the required parameters. This part is also working fine.

There are hundreds of phones to be provisioned. As it stands, we are forced to enter a unique dummy MAC address for every individual phone. Its literally any MAC address to let it be saved.

I understand that for single phone deployments, MAC address is mandatory for a good reason! I was hoping there might be a parameter in the template to suppress the MAC address from being mandatory.

P.S. By "security by obscurity", I meant that for an attacker %%mac_address%%.cfg is more difficult to guess than %%extension_number%%.cfg

And just using the extension with extra leading zero's, as MAC is not good? (to be unique)
MAC 0000000002034, 000000002178, ...

The Phone setup is not part of the Provisioning file, so can not be changed, it's 3CX software code.
