Hi,

I just recently installed some Favil X4U, provisioned using Direct SIP - STUN Remote. However, the Extension name and BLF will only update if I reset the phone and do the provisioning again. Once they are provisioned, rebooting the phone or autoprovision now from the phone web GUI will not work, reprovision the phone from 3CX also does not work even after the phone says updating. The BLF will only update via the Phone Web GUI. The Extension will not update via 3CX nor the Phone Web GUI

I think this is normal behavior unless you have some type of vlan or network configuration issue. I change information about the extension or the BLF in 3CX and then log into the web GUI of the phone and change it manually and reboot phone. I don't believe the phone re-provisions that way unless its reset like you said.

Thanks for your input. On my other systems using Fanvil 4S and 5S, I managed to update the BLF and Extension Name via 3CX and was able to the same on one of the X4U phones once

Hi @Lee Ngo

Please start by telling us what firmware version the phones are running, and your exact 3CX system version

Thanks for reaching out John,

Fanvil X4U firmware version 2.2.13
3CX version 16.0.1078 is hosted on Amazon Lightsail
I ran the firewall check, all came back done except this: detecting SIP ALG... not detected

Hi Lee,

Ok since the phone is a STUN device, have you taken a look good at the article I mentioned above?

Also to check that the provisioning URL stays correct after the first provisioning,

1. Login to a PC that is on the same network as your phone

2. Access the Phone Web UI and go to System > Auto Provision > Static Provisioning Server

3. Copy "Server Address" into your browser

4. Add a "/" after the address

5. Copy the "Configuration File Name"

So you should end up with something like this

https://mypbx.3cx.com:5001/provisioning/keja7jf9ke/0C451F721390.cfg

If that PC can download that file, then you have confirmed that provisioning is correct.

If the provisioning URL does not download or it has an IP address in it instead of your FQDN, there may be a problem with the extension settings.

Thanks John, I have read the article and there are a couple of things I need to do. Also I will check the provisioning per above and let you know

Hi John,

I have done everything per the article except I was unable to Disable SIP ALG as there is no option on the Telstra Smart Business Router. This morning, on just one phone (I did not have time to do the rest) I port forwarded all ports, given the phone a static IP address, and reboot the phone. I was then able to update the Extension Name and BLF from 3CX Phone Reprovision once and the same thing happens: I cannot change the extension name from 3CX nor Phone Web Gui and I can only update the BLF from the Phone Web GUI.

By the way, I did have the X4U set up in my office had the same problems described. Whereas there's no problem with the X6. I am using exactly the same router and having the same issue with Firewall check cannot detect SIP ALG

Hi Lee,

Can you also take another look at post #7 and let me know of the outcome?

Hi John,
Per post 7, yes I was able to download the config file

Thanks Lee,

We did see an issue with the X4U although it's not exactly as you described it, but it may still be related.

So try this and let me know:

1. Add only 4 BLFs to your extension (any ones you want) and provision the phone from scratch after resetting it.

2. Once it is provisioned for the first time, go add a 5th BLF under your extension's settings in 3CX

3. Go to the phones page, and tick your phone (should already be registered at this point)

4. Click Reprovision

5. See if the 5th BLF appears and lights up

6. See if the 4th BLF stays in place, but the light turns off

Let me know if the procedure fails at step 5 (ie. no new BLF shows up) or if it all happens exactly as I described all the way up to step 6 included.

Thanks John, I will do this next week and let you know

Hello John,

I haven't gone back to the site to do per article 13 but I will get it done as soon as I can. However, I have bought another Fanvil 4XU for the purpose of testing. I had it in my office and had it tested first on our 3CX on firmware 2.2.1, no problem with updating the BLF by Reprovision via 3CX. I then upgrade to firmware 2.2.12, reset the phone, and had it tested on the customer's 3CX (the system I am having an issue with the BLF) and no problem with updating the BLF also.

However, before I took the phones to the customer's site, I did have them in my office configured on the customer's system, they all had problems with updating the BLF. When I had the phones in my office, I also had difficulties in provisioning them (I did have Breeze Connect tech support to look at it and they found the same). So I reinstalled 3CX and see if it make any difference, and it did not.

Hi Lee,

In this case I would recommend to wait a while until we get an update from the manufacturer.

The problem has been reported to them and it is now under investigation.
