We run a 150 person call center with Fanvils. Its been fine for a year. However now they have figured out Auto Answer and certain people are grabbing all inbound calls. Are there phones that DO NOT have an Auto Answer feature?

Hi @Cytranic

Probably not, because auto answer is also used for other SIP functions (like for example for alerts or paging) so it comes built in by the manufacturers.

Even if you were to theoretically disable it via provisioning, I think it would not stop users from enabling it again from the phone menus.

Thats what I'm looking for, a phone that does not have a Auto Answer menu. We've blocked the windows app, they cannot use that...

The only option I see is forcing everyone to use the Web Client, which does not have auto answer.

I'm not aware of a specific model unfortunately, the only thing I can suggest is to look at our supported phones list and the google specific models to see what the manufacturer says.

From what I see most modern Snom, Yealink and Fanvil phones have it visible in their menus

THanks John, I'll do that.
