Solved Pinned icon gone on each update

every time there is an update for the Windows app the icon goes like this:



could you look to change this in the future so the icon sticks?

If you shift right click the icon and go to properties what path can you see as the target? It may be that the path contains the version number as mentioned here: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/new-windows-desktop-app-optimized-for-speed.85503/post-402079

We identified an issue with pinned taskbar icon during update process that will be addressed on the upcoming release of Desktop App.
First time might require unplin and pin, but for concecutive updates should be OK.

Issue is the icon path is set/changed to a version numbered folder "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Programs\3CXDesktopApp\app-18.5.28" and that directory doesn't exist after the update completes.

Maybe it'll work going forward then.

An update on this, we have a fix for this on the next update.

When it's released, you will need to:

1. Unpin the Desktop app
2. Uninstall the Desktop App
3. Re-install the latest version
4. Re-pin the app

All subsequent updates after this though will not break the icon.
We tried to find a more linear way to address this, unfortunately though there was no other way.
