Pointing a Phone number twords a Remote Phone

Here is the Challange. I'm Pointing a Phone number twords a Remote extension. The Extension shows regestration and as well rings. The party placing the call just hears continuing ringing after the phone is answered. very strange

Thoughts?

Have you configured the firewall on the 3CX system or the firewall server behind which you have your 3CX system. Please check the following link to know more about the firewall ports required by 3CX.

Hi Tazz, you are an old hand at this. If its giving you a headache it can't be simple. Don't keep secrets, give us some info. What are you using for the remote? Maybe some logs from 3CX? Can the remote make calls outbound via 3CX? Will it receive calls from other extensions? That sort of stuff. Now, I don't promise I can help, I spend most of my time learning from everyone :wink: . But you are sure to get help from someone.

I have 3CX and the remote phone on DMZ. Yes the remote phone can dial out just fine to the PSTN. When I place a call from the Remote to the LAN of the 3CX the LAN phone rings, when answered neither party can hear each other. This is the same when calling from one remote to another, again it will ring but when answered no audio..

please post some server status logs for the call being made or received which will help to know the issue.

In my understanding it shows exactly what SY said...
External phone isnt sending the signal to PBX that he picked up the call or somehow that signal isnt getting to the PBX, for that same reason the phone keeps ringing even after the other party pick up...

That is correct. Those are the symptoms. You sound like you have faught with this in the past? Is this a router challange? Phone or 3cx issue?

I really want to thank everyone for their imput, although I'm still having issues. Just as miraportuga made mention that appears to be the problem

I dont know know what it might be, shouldnt be a problem from the other party(the one that picks up the call) since internal traffic generaly goes thourgh firewall withouth any questions. Maybe something to do with DMZ? never worked with DMZ so no idea.... also it can be a phone problem or not... you never mentioned what phones you're using. I know i have here some "cheap" ip phones that tried and tried and simpy they wont work well with stun. without it. it works great, with it... forget it, line registers, you can place calls, you have no audio thoug...

Cheap maybe the word. Grandstream, I'm using an ATA 386 as well BT 101 and GXP 2000. Could the Grandstream product need something turned on or off aside from stun? I've used these phones in other applications & on other phone servers and have always done well, although at this point with my frustrations I'm willing to accept anything. With stun applied and DMZ at both ends. What is next?

OK for some reason My Primary number is now working, although the remote phone at hand I am pointing a second number for inbound only to that phone. That number rings but as before no audio & even after the call is disconnected the Remote Phone continues to ring. In all of this I'am still DMZ at both ends..
