Port required in URL

I have a on-premise installation of V18...

For one reason or another our system decided it wouldn't connect via:
https://****.**.3cx.us/webclient/

Instead, now it requires the port number in the url
https://****.**.3cx.us:5001/webclient/

Anyone with any ideas on what is causing this and how I can get it to omit the port number?

5001 is one of the default ports. To change the port you need to reinstall the system.

I don't need to change the port, just the url. I know the management is on 5001, but we've never had the issue where ":5001" needed to be in the url to access it

You must have had some sort of proxy or redirection in place.

the fact that you need 5001 to access it, means the web server was installed on 5001.

if you want to change it to drop the 5001 then you need to install it again on port 443.

Search the parameter WEB_ROOT_LOCAL_SEC and it will tell you what port it's been installed on.

Browsers assume http will be on port 80 and https will be on port 443. If your 3CX is configured to use 443, then you can omit the port, but if it was installed using 5001, you will have to include the port number in the URL. I have to assume something in your environment has changed. Either 3CX was reinstalled and configured to use 5001 rather than 443, or you were accessing your 3CX from a public IP address where the firewall was port forwarding 443 to 5001.
