hi all

im following https://www.3cx.com/blog/releases/v20-upgrade-checklist-faq/ to prepare for the move to departments.

i've got 2 companies on the 3CX, got a tonne of DIDs for both companies, seperate offices, sites etc.

Step 2 says to move the queues etc to the correct dpt.

So, I thought I could just "send to group" and then configure the routing from the web client but apparently not as i'm only able to assign 1 routing to the department.

I seem to be unable to assign different DIDs to destinations under the one dpt - is this correct?

Am I going to have to create a new dpt for each destination pre v20 move?

So it is following the office hours of the users default dept?

the users default department is the same as the department for the ring group. it is following nothing. It is only working when i am using the option for the user to switch status in and out of office.

I will wait until 20.1, maybe the fix all issues, I upgrade one client then I went back to 18, I have no time to test drive v20 is like windows 8 avoid, for now.

So today i tried it again. @kieferschild you can assign the did directly to the ringgroup and assign the ringgroup to the department to follow the office hours of the department. In the ringgrup you can set the call forwarding for out of office hours.

Also the user is following the office hours of the department but only when you tic the option in the user for switching the status of the user.

What i am missing is the option like v18 to assign office hours to the did without switching the status of the user. We used this option to still be avaiable for internal calls but not for external. Now i have to use the magic trick with a ringgroup and the status option for beeing avaiable for ringgroups.

I had thought I read calls use office hours from when/where they first arrive…? Can you assign the DID to a dummy department, then forward it to where you want? (Thinking out loud)

Yes that could be another solution. Assign the did to a dummy department with office hours and routing. the user should be still avaiable for internal calls.

If we graduate from dummy extensions to entire dummy departments that implies the number of dummies in this company is increasing …

Yes, i am not a big fan of this solution but this is the way it goes. 3CX did not see the need of internal calls when external is out of office...
