Hello everyone,

One nice feature that I can't seem to locate is prepending a digit on the incoming CallerID. One may wish to advertise the incoming line on which the number rang in the received number or simply fix the esthetics of the number so that a user can redial it without any edits. This happens a lot with VoIP providers that return DID-inbound calls in a local format (020 xxx instead of 004420 xxx for example).

Anyone has a clue? :)

Hi

The way the VOIP provider trims the number and sends in the INVITE cannot be controlled at PBX level. However you can create outbound rules that can prepend to the number to achieve the required result.

Hi William,

Not to doubt you, but I've seen this working quite efficiently with NCH Axon v1 and v2. The DID can be instructed to prepend pretty much anything. Maybe by intercepting the SIP message and reencoding the FROM part?

Cheers,

W.

PS: The Armada of features that 3cx offers cannot be compared to Axon, I'm just advising of a feature that may be interesting to be added. You guys have an EXCELLENT product now. ;-)

Hi

At this point in time 3CX does not have such a feature, so we would recommend you post this to the 3CX Feature Request forum for consideration and review as well as community interaction.

We have heard of customers who have rebuilt the DID using Patton devices and custom configurations.

As to VOIP providers, you might want to see if your VOIP provider account profile allows enabling / disabling of the DID trimming.
