Press zero to reach the operator

We have 20 locations on our 3CX. Has anyone come up with a better way to manage the default press star to reach the operator. It sends all calls to extension 100 because you can only add one ext and we don't have a general group that can take calls. Im thinking of just setting up an ext thats reads something about you reached our general VM and to leave a message.

Such a basic feature to have anyone with VM can choose where to send zero or star out callers.

IVR only has 0-9. we have 20 offices.
We also put extensions in groups by office. If they designed so that if the phone is in a group it will stay in the office.

Callers to In IVR (Digital receptionist) can, by default, dial extension numbers directly, which offers more flexibility if you create some dummy extensions that are forwarded, and list those in the greeting. This way you don't have to give out actual extension numbers, unless you want to.

I have built a call-flow that allows you to define, in an XML file, a list of extensions, and the operator they should * back to ... It's implemented as a Queue and you define that Queue as the OPERATOR in your system preferences. When you call the extension, and press *, the CFD looks up who to transfer to and does so - if it's not found, it sends to your default operator also defined in the XML file. It's pretty easy to maintain, though, is not done through the UI . Let me know if you're interested and I'd be happy to share.
