Hi,

I deleted an extension and now I can not use the DID of this extension at another new extension. How to solve this?

Thanks.

Under Inbound rules, do you see the DDI number and routing to the deleted extension.

Can you not change the routing to the new extension.

Ideally, if you were to delete an Item (extension or trunk) that was still "linked" to another entry, you would be given a warning , or, prevented from doing so, until the other entry were also removed. I have come across this sort of implementation in other systems, and it prevents a lot of unforeseen issues, not the least...data corruption.

When an extension is deleted the Inbound rule that was associated to that extension is not deleted but the destination is changed to "End Call". This is because there might be different destinations in the same Inbound rule for in and out of office hours that you may want to keep.
You can then simply delete the Inbound rule to "free" the DID up or reuse the same inbound rule.
