Hello, we had to move our PBX from one VPS to another, and in the process change licence .

We released the FQND, backed up with no license.
Installed from ISO, no problems there
Restored from backup file, drop in new license, add old FQDN and...

trunks registered, if we call our numbers we get our digital receptionist
extensions show as registered
voip phones are not registering
3CX IOs and Android clients are not fully registering, they are waiting for network we get no presence
The Phones list seems wiped out, we have only a couple phones there it is missing around 50 phones that it had provisioned.

Voip phones say SIP reg failed, no service, etc.

WebClient does not load, it says network disconected

We also, now need to reach it via :5001 when we did not have to use a port before.

all ideas, suggestions and pointers are really appreciated
as i need this working . This "simple" backup and restore did not got as expected.

Update, some of the mobile clients are showing this.

Odd thing... the ones that say Disconnected Waiting for network CAN DIAL
But get no presence or photo.

This is actually the answer to your question. Yes, the FQDN you are using is the same (I assume you have checked that it now resolves to the new IP), but on the new VPS 3CX is no longer listening on port 443, but on 5001. This means that ALL your devices can't connect to the 3CX and retrieve their new configuration, which will also tell them the new IP of the server and everything else that has changed.

You need to Reprovisioning all phones and add the 5001 port. If it is 3CX Clients, just resend the Welcome Emails, that I would think will be easier.

Ohh so it’s a port thing

How can I reconfigure the service port from 5001 back to whatever the last one was using? 443 or 80?

The SIP/Tunnel/HTTP/HTTPS ports can only be configured during the installation.

So:
  1. Backup current 3CX with all backup options (no need to uncheck FQDN, etc)
  2. Uninstall
  3. Re-install
  4. Restore backup and proceed with the installation as normal
  5. When you get to the following part, make sure to enter ports 443 and 80 which I presume you had

  6. Complete the installation
  7. Re-configure you firewall to allow traffic to 443 to be routed to your 3CX server (5001 will no longer be used)
  8. Re-run the firewall checker to check all ports are open (doesn't hurt to be safe ;) )

The above should at least sort out the error about the phones not being able to reach the provisioning server. As I hinted at before, do check though that the FQDN currently does resolve to the new Public IP address as well.

That did work.

It would be nice to add that note to the restore instructions. As our previous box was pbxexpress installed and worked by default on 80 and 443. This iso install went on default 5000 and 5001 while other ports came with the backup file apparently.

I appreciate the prompt reply. Thanks !

Glad to see the issue has been resolved and thank you for the feedback.
