3CX App for Windows, Build 16.3.0.144
3cx running latest build and running in amazons cloud
windows 10 fully updated

When you speak to anyone through 3cx using the built in mike and speakers there is a echo where the calling party to the surface pro 7, hears their own voice.

IF we do the same test between teams with the surface pro 7 with other teams members the call is perfect.

Any suggestions what we should do

I love the surface, but there are some problems with it, especially the components on the inside. It uses marvell and others for nic and bluetooth. Some of your problem may be there, make sure your drivers and firmware up to date. Also, try the mic gain in the audio options. Mine is set to .5 and check your audio devices and make sure you have the right one. In addition, does your firewall checker come back ok in 3CX console? Perform the checker during off hours. Please update the thread. Thanks.

The firewall checker comes back ok with no problems. All drivers are up to date on the surface as well.
When we use teams to make calls there are no problems. We only have a problem when we use the 3cx windows client. We also tried the mike gain set to the lowest and still had the feedback problem

I experience similar on other Notebook hardware, not only since this version.
Do you think it behaved better before?

We have noticed a lot more issues with hardware that is not Intel branded nic, Bluetooth, for whatever its worth. That is all we buy, laptops that have intel nic's and Bluetooth due to many reasons, including this one. Not saying that it is the issue here because it could be the app. 3CX probably also has different network requirements and compression rates for its services, which could be the problem as well. The most recent update has network quality selectors in the meeting space service, my guess is they know about it and are working on it for future releases. What are your results on something other than a surface?

Hi,

If you can confirm this goes away when lowering the speaker volume or using headphones ( and the built in mic ) then there is no need to troubleshoot the PBX. It is just echo from the the device catching its own speaker output and sending it back to the other party.

There is a setting for echo cancellation in the app, you can try to toggle it on/off and compare

We have tried the echo cancellation and that does not make any difference. This problem does not happen if we teams to make calls. The 3cx windows client is the only one that has this problem

@lreiber:
My experience is from using dell branded (latitude) Hardware.
I guess, the echo arrives too late for the DSP processing, so the echo is simply ignored, instead of removed from the signal. I could supply a sample of a session if anyone at 3cx is interested.

With further investigation, we found that this happens only when you use the 3cx software installed for windows.
If we use the webclient the problem is not there.
We also tried this with the Yealink CP900 speaker phone hooked up to the surface via usb and the same thing happens. When using the 3cx app on windows we get the feedback, but if we use the web client there is no feedback.

I believe there must be a problem with audio feedback with the client

I can confirm this observation. I just made two calls to the same destination using the build in microphone and speakers of a dell Latitude E7280. The other side told me that if using the windows client a longer call would be unacceptable, while using the webclient this will be possible.
Please 3cx fix this. The Windows client is an important piece of the 3cx System. The Webclient might be usable in a few years, but currently there is no no alternative to the Windows Client.

Thank you for confirming what we are experiencing. If 3cx is listining, please address this
