Problems with 3CX Client on Android 7 device

Good afternoon. I have problems with the 3CX Client v16 application installed on a device with Android version 7. The device is a Grandstream GXV-3370 phone, firmware version 1.0.3.3. Exactly, the fault is that when the application is run on the device (3CX Client v16) an error appears with the following alert "Sorry, the application crashed. Please send a report to the developers. You can add a comment here: .. .... " The strange thing is that Android version 7 is the minimum version for the softphone to work well.

How can I solve this case? Thank you very much for the attention, I will be attentive to your response.

Yeah, the goal was to have videocalls between different sites with SBC.

Do you know of video deskphones supporting VP8? Grandstream does not.

And even the proxy can not just forward the video INVITE just like it does with VP8 or there's the licensing issue even if only passing through?

For sure Yealink T58V supports vp8. But if you open a support ticket, they might be able to recommend more models.

No this is not blocked because of licensing. This is a restriction for performance because it is extremely heavy processing and CPU intensive to mix 2 video legs of different codecs. The moment you proxy, then that calls for mixing. but the Grandstream phone for sure cannot be used for this test so pointless testing with it. It does not support Vp8.

I can understand when mixing codecs but what I mean is between H.264 devices, but just passing through the SBC. Ex.: site 1 and site 2 have SBCs, I have a H.264 phone on each side, could they communicate if the SBC was programmed to proxy the signal? Just like it does when using VP8 on both ends right now.

I know Grandstream has been requested to support VP8. Some devices do, others don't. I also have a Fanvil X7 which can only receive video but I didn't check what codecs are supported.

I just tested a NOKIA 8 on ANDROID 9 and push works, + 2 way audio is ok.

Frederick Marcoux - about your issue, if you want I can offer to make some tests together. Look I have seen H264 connecting 2 way over sbc's so it is possible. But I cannot invest time on H264 due to lack of compliancy from some phone manufacturers. Essentially we told manufacturers to add Vp8 and some ignored this valid request. Yet they they still managed to create firmwares of Android that amount to 4GB. from the standard 1-2.5 GB OS. So if they doubled the firmware size of Android and did not put the Vp8 codec inside then we cannot also offer interop. I really would like to help you but then it is not fair on us. So I will help you with everything else.

What is the payload type that works in H.264 on the Webclient? Doorphones uses that and it shows up so I guess it supports one.

I just got a new SIP camera and it supports only H264/H265 but I can change the payload type.

I managed to make videocalls working over the SBC with the webclient, my SIP camera and even a GXV. I had to reduce the profile to Baseline.

I will be doing more testing throughout the weekend to know what quality profiles work and which don't. VGA resolution worked PERFECTLY both ways! As for 1080p, still gotta test it.
