Hello everyone

I have a issue which is driving me nuts.

I have upgraded from windows to a Linux on site version of 3cx.

I have readded my Voipfone details back into 3cx (Generic Trunk sip.voipfone.net, port 5060 etc) with my passwords and call numbers.

This worked great on the windows version but no fully on the linux

I cant do outgoing calls at all. all incoming ones work great; it rings the group and you can answer and do whatever you wanted to do

You just cant make any outgoing calls, you get a "not found" message.

I looked through here and on-line and the only solution is to "From: User Part" to you account number plus you ext so something like 123456x10 (with 123456 being my account number)

I am only able to find from user in the drop select of caller id control; but i am not able to change the details unless i select custom field and this does not work for me.

I have also used the main trunk number to the 123456x10 but again only incoming call work great cant do any outgoing

Any ideas any one?

PS I have dyslexia so i am hoping this reads ok
PPS Voipfone is a UK sip trunk provider

Hi there.
So you can export your existing trunk and see its settings for the outbound parameters, there and then adjust those settings to the information you need to send in the From: User part. Keep in mind that if you change something, you will need to reimport the trunk and before doing that, an existing will need to be removed.

Hi,

I tried that and it is just the same; any other ideas?

Andrew

Hi Andrew, you must be looking in this direction, and then check the 3CX System logs/captures, to see what the system is sending out.

Hi, on checking the logs the outbound rule was missing!; so i recreated it and rebooted to make sure.

I get the following error.

Event ID 12294
Details
Call or Registration to 1471@(Ln.10000@Voipfone -Out) has failed. sip:46.31.225.185:5060;lr replied: Forbidden (403)

all incoming work all ok

Ok, the error here is shown to come from the provider.
Maybe you can ask them to advise what the issue is and why they sent 403 error.
You could also do the capture and see the invite from the 3CX to the trunk, and then know if the 3CX System send the information you need.

Hi,

That's a great idea.

It only happened when I moved over to the Linux version and just through it was 3CX i never even looked at the SIP company.

Thanks again I will check with them and see what is what :)

You are welcome.
Case to case is different. Many customers moved from Windows to Linux, and different versions of the system too, and in most cases, the transition should not affect the trunk and the issue you have now.

Well that sums up mu luck so far!!!

Give it a try using a supported provider and see how it goes.

HI

When i got the SIP i did there was nothing supported for a small user!

Thanks

Andrew

In the UK region (this is what I see in your profile) you have many options and supported trunks

thanks

i will have a look if i cant get this one to work :)

just had this reply back

Call or Registration to 1471@(Ln.10000@Voipfone -Out) has failed. sip:46.31.225.185:5060;lr replied: Forbidden (403)

the problem seems to be in this part:

10000@Voipfone

by any change do you know where this would be located in 3cx

Thanks

Its not enough information. Maybe you can show more exact information about what the system sends out when this is an issue.

can you advise were that would be?

You could try using this tool and inspect the system logs.

Voipfone expects the invite to be <account number>@sip.voipfone.net otherwise you'll get the 403 if it attempts to send <callerid>@sip.voipfone.net.
