Cloud Hosted 3CX, have followed the instructions here to provision Yealink T54W phones (screenshot attached). System is running an SBC on site (it shows it's green/connected under SIP trunks), about 40 phones on premises and a couple will be taken outside the LAN once all is working well. The instructions mention provisioning using RPS as the easiest method and we used Direct SIP.

When I look at the list of phones on the 3CX dashboard, most of them list the WAN IP of the office. Only a couple of them mention "via SBC (custom name)" in the IP column.
Does this mean that most of the phones are not operating behind the SBC and are all going out to the WAN and back for internal calls? Should I edit each phone and change the provisioning to be 3CX SBC (remote) and then select our 3CX session border controller in the other dropbox then reprovision?

Thank you for your guidance.

Yes, RPS should only be used for Remote phones that are not behind an SBC. The new instructions indicate it can be used for LAN phones when the server is on the same local network as the phones, but I have not used it and just use Plug and Play or DHCP Option 66 - which is effectively the same as RPS.

So, in your case, change any phones at the location with an SBC to SBC provisioning and reprovision the phones. Any new phones can be booted up on the network, and should be detected by the SBC and reported to 3CX as a "New" phone in bold on the Phones tab, where you can Assign it to an existing extension or Add an extension.
