Hi Everyone,

I get the following error when i try to call in on one of our PSTN lines.

15:07:25.578 [CM102001]: Authentication failed for SipReq: INVITE [email protected] tid=56d0a2609970ae72 cseq=INVITE [email protected]:5062 / 21709 from(wire); Reason: Credentials don't match, check that authorization-ID and password match the ones in extension settings

We have a Grandstream 4104 and have 2 PSTN lines configured and are able to make out going calls but when we make a test incoming call the Grandstream FXO indicator does even light up.

Any help is appreciated.

Check the setup of the ports and how you have the gxw configured. Normally, the virtual ports would be 10000 & 10001. This shows 10002, but no matter the port and its associated credentials are not liked by 3cx.

Hi Ineblett,

The gxw4104 is set up in the following way: Prt 1 = 10001 Prt 2 = 10002 Prt 3 = 10003 Prt 4 = 10004

3cx will allow me to make calls out.

But looking at that error I posted, I have just noticed something, well, I think I have. If a call was coming in on 10001 why would 3cx report that 10001 and 10002 have an error when 10002 wasn't in use ??

The credentials were made up by 3cx and I copied and pasted them across to the gxw management console.

Should I change them maybe ? Instead of 10001 to 10004 maybe I can change them to 101 to 104 then change the passwords ??

Also, I have 3cx V10 - Maybe there is a bug I don't know about...?

Ok then, the ports are set correctly. You just started them 1higher than what I usually see.

Do all 4 ports show as registered in 3cx? Also, if you go to the status page in the gxw, does this show the ports as registered?

If any one is not, then try to re-enter the password taking care that no trailing or leading spaces inadvertantly make it into the copy/paste.

I will need to see the log before I can comment on your concern about how 3cx reported the 10001/02 issue.

Is this a new implementation of a gxw?

It is a new implementation of the gxw -

We only have two PSTN lines so therefore I am only using Port 1 - 10001 and Port 2 - 10002

In the status page on the gxw the PSTN ports 1 & 2 are "Connected, Idle"

The two ports in 3cx are registered and working on outgoing calls

I will switch the gxw off tomorrow & clear the server log, turn it back on and make an outgoing call and also inbound call and send the server log to you if that's ok ?

Sure, that will be fine.

OK so this morning I switched the gxw off and cleared the server log then switched it back on. This is what i got ...

At 11:00am I made the outbound call
at 11:02am I made the inbound test call which failed.

OK, a couple of things -

Do you have a fixed public IP? If so, then you can turn STUN off, just make sure in the Setting, Network area that you specify what that IP is for both the STUN tab and the Public IP tab.

It actually looks like you made a call at 10:13 from extension 105 to an outside number. The call ended nearly 40 seconds later. This is call 19.

this may help pin it down. 99x can be pre-pended to the dial string and this will tell the GXW which port you specifically want the call to go out. The GXW uses a round robin approach (assuming you did not change the settin) in that it autonatically selects the port it wants to use to make the outbound call.

The way it looks to me at the moment you are using "9" to direct the call to the outside line and then stripping one. I also have the impression that the number 907535619343 is a number for a line that is also associated to the GXW. Is my assumption correct?

SO, what I would like to try is for you to dial a completely different outside line (not one for the office) and dial it two times, the first using 9991907XXXXXXX and again using 9992907XXXXX (where XXXXXX is the same for both calls) and listen to the handset during the calls. What should happen is that the first 9 should direct the call to the GXW and then the 991 and 992 following should direct the calls out physical ports 1 and 2 respectively. If possible make sure that no other calls are in progress so that we know that a line of interest won't be in use when you try to direct the call to a specific one.

Also, did you manually provision the GXW or use the template? If you go to the tab (on the left of the 3CX console) and select VoIP PSTN Gateways, how many simultaneous calls does it show? Input 4. Then go to the top where where it indicates Port/Trunk Status and look at each port and under the "other" section on the page, ensure that both in- & out are checked (so that port can both make and receive calls) and finally input 4 for max simulatanteous calls. The max calls may seem confusing, but these are virtual ports and not physical lines, so don't worry about the number. As you only have two lines, you can only physically have 2 calls and the GXW will know that based upon line status.

Hi,

This morning after I posted I did a fresh install of the gateway, and I noticed something that I had obviously had been distracted and over looked when I set it up the first time.

When you set up a PSTN gateway it asks you for the "During Office Time" and "Out of Office Time" extensions I had taken this to be default set at 103 but extension 103 is one of the Linksys phones, and not the group call extension of 100. So the 3cx was sending the request directly to 103 and it was being rejected by the phone.

I will hold my hand up and say "my bad" but we are working now.

But upon reading your post yes we do have static IP's so I will turn off the STUN and also look in more detail about the 99 rule.

Yet again, my friend, I have fixed one problem and come across another... We all sound like Daleks now and I'm expecting Dr Who to come bursting through the door at any time. Something's wrong with the transmission of the packets, I think its something to do with the RTP Packet Size...It was set to 0.030 and I have set it to 0.020 and we shall see how what goes tomorrow.

Thanks once again!! :o

Yes, it should be set to .20.

Glad to see that it is working./
