Putting A Call On Hold To Pick Up Another, Without a Phone or Phone App

. Our user, who answers the most of our incoming calls, requested a way to be able to put a call on hold to answer another incoming call... Then be able to switch between the first call and any other future incoming calls... Just from the soft phone software or web browser, without having a physical IP phone or smart phone app installed. The browser puts the first call on hold for the next, but I haven't been able to switch between them without using an IP phone. Doing this exclusively on the smartphone is easy, but not desired for this instance.

I must be missing something very simple, here. I seemingly can only do this from the smartphone app or a physical IP phone with line buttons assigned to BLFs. This is such a basic function of a multi-line phone.

Can someone please enlighten me what is eluding me?

In case someone else is thinking about this... Doing a blind transfer back to one's self is both clunky and can easily put the call in a position to not be picked back up.

Hi,

The extension has Accept Multiple Calls enabled in order to pick the next call.

Please use Chrome to log into Web Client and while the user is in a call, have a second person call them.

You will see two call boxes appear:



Note that on top next to the Q button, I have "Web Client" selected, not CTI mode so I'm running exclusively in softphone mode

Also note that the two calls can independently be put on hold or resumed.

I would suggest to update your PBX to the latest service pack as soon as convenient for you.

{Edited} OK... I was fully up to date, but didn't see the web client option. Now I do. Students, can you guess what it was? >)
