Hi everyone, I am looking for some feedback if possible from people who have hands-on experience and recommendation.

specifically - goal is to find a phone handset
modestly priced and 'basic' phone functionality (ie, dialtone, can pick up and dial, can answer inbound calls, that is about it for requirements)
which does not depend on hard-wire LAN connectivity
clearly has AC power socket nearby to power phone via a wall-wart AC_DC adaptor
will connect to Local network via Wifi
where we have a hard-wired SBC on the LAN
this office has a ~couple of ~decent Grandstream handsets in service right now which ~work fine.
most of the staff are 'supposedly' using Mobile-app for 3cx on their smart phones, except for the most part - they are not.
apparently there is more reluctance than initially realized for people to use a phone that is not a hunk of plastic you hold up to your head and have the rest of the phone box sit on the desk with a nice curly cord running between them. arrgh..

So: with a tiny bit of gentle digging > I get the feeling that Yealink SIP-T31W is possibly an easy good option, which is ~$100 or less CAD Approx spend per unit
(although slightly more it seems when I buy it with a power adaptor, grumble)

and it appears? to be something 3cx will function with (based on > https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/yealink-t3-series/ )

I am pretty sure it is not on the 'preferred devices list' in 3cx support. But maybe "OK" in the "yeah it works but don't ask for help" list.

ultimately I'm wondering if anyone who has a ~decent number of wifi-not-LAN-hardwire physical-handsets deployed
can comment "hey yes this part is good, works fine, no drama".

ideally please don't tell me "hey, is bad plan, use android phones instead" or "use web app on laptops" or "just make the users get with program and use app on their iphones".
etc. I kind of already know those are ~options, except for the part where I tie the users down and force them to do what they apparently won't do - since I can't sit in their office 24/7 and make them do what I would prefer.

So. Any feedback or comments - is very much welcome

thank you
Tim
