Question about attended call transfer in free edition

I'm totally new to this digital telephony stuff and now starting trying out 3CX free edition.

According to this page:
http://www.3cx.com/phone-system/enterprise-features.html,
free edition should have Attended Call Transfer. But I could not figure out how to use it.

On the other hand, 3CX Call Assistant manual says call transfer only works in paid versions.

I'm confused. Please help. Thanks.

Call transfer is handled by the actual ATAs and/or IP Phones used for extensions if designed for it.

If using Call Assistant on PC you can also perform call transfer with paid editions of 3CX server.

The current version of 3CX server does not offer call transfer function via dialing a preset string, though this may be a feature in the soon to be released v4.

So if using free edition, call transfer would depend on what you are using for extensions. I use PAP2 ATAs which require keying "*98" and I use paid version Eyebeam softphones that have the transfer function enabled.
