Hello,

I would like to clarify how the FQDN should be configured for a 3CX Failover setup.

Should both PBX machines (Primary and Failover) use the same FQDN, or should each PBX have a different FQDN?

For example:

Primary PBX: pbx.company.com
Failover PBX: pbx-failover.company.com

Or should both PBXs use the same FQDN: pbx.company.com?

What is the recommended configuration according to 3CX best practices?

Thank you for your help.

Hi, The failover requires the use of the same FQDN for both the active and passive systems. If you use the 3CX FQDN, DNS is handled automatically, switching the IP of the FQDN to point to whichever system becomes active. Please see the guide: https://www.3cx.com/docs/failover/
