Hi 3CX enthusiasts.

We are a MSP and have a interesting requirement.

We are trying to balance the calls on our NOC floor using the "longest waiting" poll strategy.

The issue we have is when people leave or go to lunch and sign out of the queue and have only a single person in the queue the call gets lost.

What we require is to have a ringer on the group to show that a call has hit the queue, but it cant be part of the longest waiting call group or all calls will hit that EXT.

Not sure if this can be done, we are experimenting with this function at the moment.

Why not take the ringer out of the queue

Change call flow to ring the ringer, then the queue

Use the forwarding rules of the ringer extension, to forward calls to the queue

Or the either way around. Set the Queue overflow to the ringer extension so when there is no one in the Queue the call will overflow to the ringer extension.

Thanks for the reply's, all good ideas. Would love to be able to place a ringer or EXT in the call group but not have it participate as part of the "longest wait"

I would recommend posting this as a feature request to our ideas section of the forum https://www.3cx.com/community/forums/3cx-ideas/ . All posts are reviewed by their corresponding Departments and, if feasible and voted for by other users as well, may be implemented in an upcoming service pack or update.
