Solved Raspberry Pi4 installation problem

Hi all,

I found 3CX and this forum following a YouTube video where the user "NetworkChuck" sets up a phone system on a Pi4. I have a Pi 4 4GB version running the full, desktop version of Raspbian.

I've followed the instructions here but my installation fails. The installation fails when it tries to install nginx.service:

The Pi 4 I'm installing it on runs a PiVPN server currently - there was an instance of PiHole installed, but I've removed that.

Does 3CX need to be the only thing installed on the Pi following a fresh install or is there a problem with the installer? I haven't tried a new install yet to prove this either way. I'm setting this up as a trial, proof of concept thing before I jump into it properly/seriously.

There's obviously some conflict. 3CX will tell you that the Pi will be soley for the use of 3CX PBX.

Therefore, format your SD card and follow these instructions to set up the PBX.

I was using an existing device just as a proof of concept. I have another pi4 at home that has multiple servers/services running concurrently without issue. If/when I go for it properly, I'll have a dedicated device and probably minimum headless install.

OK, I'm now installed on a spare card.

I'm trying to get the licence key, but I'm stuck in a loop. Because I registered this account and email to ask these questions, when I enter my name and email at https://www.3cx.com/phone-system/download-phone-system/ it tells me I'm already registered and to the customer portal. There are no entries in the "My Subscriptions" section so that I can copy/paste the key into the web interface.

Please check all your 3CX related emails, you should have one that contains the key.

If you login here with your initial account that you created when receiving your key, you should also be able to access your customer portal https://login.3cx.com/

Please do not install anything else on your Pi, and use the boot image that we have included in our guide to ensure you are deploying in a tested and supported method

Thanks all for your support. The licence key missing was completely my fault - I'd skipped over the registration when I logged in to access the forum. I had an online chat with the support team this morning and they fixed it.

I've now tested it, got it working and now need to plan out how I'm going to implement it properly when our company phone contract needs updating.

Fantastic concept, really happy that it didn't go smoothly!

I watched the YouTube video and a light went on. As and when I get to the stage that I'm going to implement it, I plan to do all the academy training.
