Raspberry power failure

If someone recognizes the same problems, the Raspberry Pi is corrupt after a power failure.
A UPS does not help :-(

Hi Maurice,
what do you mean, your Pi is powered behind UPS and you got a power loss ?
Is your UPS working? do you have a healthy battery inside?

in the recent past i've seen on customer an EATON UPS with dead battery generating random reboot with loss of power during almost 15 minutes before it restart alone.
A new battery replaced and all is working fine now

What i actually mean .....
in cases where there are no ups and the power plug is pulled out, we often have the problem that after this power cut the SD card in rasperry becomes corrupt

The automatic 'dirty' disk check at boot should take care of most issues but corruption can happen to any operating system following a power interruption.

Surely a UPS would help because you wouldn't get power loss... If a UPS is not an option then a decent powerbank is an alternative.

Unless you mean intentional power loss (i.e. unplugged for a reboot) which is to be avoided - always shut down gracefully whenever possible.

SD cards are not expensive, besides some sort of UPS, I would keep some clones of the card handy.

your advice as IT technician should be to use an UPS all the time, for something like 3CX or SBC working H24/365 in real time, it cost most of UPS price when you face a failure due to power loss or bad power conditions.

Buy a real SD card, dont use the cheap ones that come in the kits... Get a samsung evo

When you say a UPS does not help you are correct. If you plug the Pi into a UPS but don't plug in the communication cable and install the requisite software then the Pi will still lose power when the UPS batteries run out. You still have the same hard shutdown, you just prolonged it based on battery life. You need to plug in the comm cable (typically USB) so the battery can tell the Pi when it is running low and to shutdown cleanly.
