Hi All,

3CX Detail:
  • 3CX Version, 18.0 Update 7
  • Server OS, Debian 10
  • Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where? On-premises
  • IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware version, N/A
  • Provisioning Method: Local
  • Trunk Provider or VoIP Gateway Make/Model, NetSG
  • Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES
  • Are custom Phone Templates being used: NO
I am trying to register an extension to a 3rd party application, however, the app can only register if the extension ID and Auth ID are the same, or by only using the extension ID. Is there anyway to get around the policy that requires the Auth ID to be a minimum of 10 Digits?

There was a previously successful authentication, but I am unsure what version of 3CX they were using, I will edit this post when I receive that information.

Please let me know if you need anymore information.

Kind Regards,
Matthew

Hi @mstach

The auth ID requirement was implemented as a security measure and even if there was a way to bypass this I would not recommend doing so.
I would not use an application that still requires the auth ID and extension ID to be the same.

Update 7A does allow you to use the insecure setup, which isn't recommended but sometimes you have no choice.
