I had difficulty getting a Patton 4970 PRI Smartnode to register using using the account based method.
In addition the IP addresses that were being used in the generated config file were incorrect.

Using the IP address registration method and hand editing the config file allowed outgoing calls but no incoming. This system has a fairly complicated network topology and uses multiple ethernet cards.

The problem has been resolved.

The answer was to set the Default Internet facing IP address to the address of the card to which the Patton is connected.

This needs to be done before you create the entry for the device on the SIP Trunk Page.
If you do this then the template has the correct addresses and will work when loaded into the Patton.
It seems to be creating a database entry with the correct subnet because if you subsequently change
the Default Internet facing IP address the Patton will continue working.

It also appears to be the case that if the Default Internet facing IP address is set correctly when you update the SIP Trunk entry for the Patton it will work.

I hope this saves someone some time in the future.

Glad to see the issue has been resolved and thank you for updating the thread with your solution. I am certain many people will find this helpful.
