Hello all.

What would be the best procedure for reinstalling 3cx (self-hosted on Digital Ocean) on an existing VM from a backup?

The challenge is we want to keep the same static IP. Creating a new VM via PBX Express will assign a new IP.

Use case: license downgrade and want to keep the same FQDN as well.

Thank you

/usr/sbin/3CXWizard --cleanup

Oh cool. So this will allow me to re-enter a new key? (downgrade)?

If it is just a license downgrade, you have 2 options.

As it is a self hosted machine, you can just replace the license key if you already purchased a new one without having to reinstall the system.

Or, you could speak to your 3CX Account Manager to just perform the modification to the key and just refresh the license. No need to go to such complexity with deleting configurations and restoring from backups and whatnot.

That's even simpler. For some reason, I thought it was impossible to "downgrade" a key (from 8SC to 4SC). Maybe it was the case before? (I forgot to mention it's a v18 machine).

Thanks for the pointers.
