Hi guys, i have a self-hosted instance at our data center with a mikrotik as the VPN between the head office and 3cx Server. we now have a satellite branch with 3 users. 1 handset and the other two on soft Apps.
is it necessary to setup a mikrotik, SBC or Router phone to have a phone working there or can i setup a yealink T33g manually and post it down and plug it in?
looking at simple way and cost affective.

Get a Yealink T53 which is a router phone so it can be an SBC and phone all at once. If you have more than one phone, up to 9 additional T33G phones can route calls through the T53 SBC.

I'd also recommend getting a T53 to serve as an SBC/Router Phone for that satellite office. You CAN set up the device with "Direct SIP (STUN Remote)" as the provisioning method and post it to the office, but now that router phones are supported it's the preferred method and better than STUN.

Thanks guys, you have confirmed my actions will go T53 route.

thanks again

Once you get your T53, make sure to manually upgrade its firmware from here before you assign it.

The phone can be added as a Router phone to the desired extension, using the new Admin panel from the Web Client (not management console).
