Hello,

I want to setup my 12VoIP connection in 3CX v10. But that is likely never going to happen.

Just like many, many other Betmax providers, they provide a Username, not a SIP or Phone number. But they probably thought that this kind of provider aren't important, so they removed support for letters in the Auth (External Number). No way to get it working.

Conclusion: Betamax, VoIP Buster and many other providers won't work anymore... For ever perhaps?

Please explain this decision.

Re: [BIG BUG] Removed support for generic VoIP providers!

There is a confusion here

First of all we did not remove support for anything. This is how it was before. We removed nothing from the generic voip provider. You could not put letters before in the external number field and you still cannot now. So if it was working before and now it is not working any more, this is a different story. Do you get it working on a V9?

Secondly External number and Auth ID Are different.

Authentication ID is also known as SIP ID or UserID. This accepts letters. But this is used for Authentication purposes. You do not dial a username from a phone.

If they have a user name, than that has to be put in the Authentication ID Field. This is not a dialed number.

Conclusion - there is no decision to explain. You have to explain or better understand first what this provider wants and where it wants it in the sip message. Then you need to put the required information in the appropriate fields and we take it from there.

Or give us a working account and we will try it from here to prove whether what you are stating is correct or not.
