Replacement Door Bell/Sensor?

Hi All, I'm hoping someone can help us. We have replaced an old analog PABX with 3CX (running on a raspberry pi) and ip phones.
We are very happy with the solution and everything is working perfectly. The only issue we have is the old PABX had a door sensor that was connected to our front reception door. So if someone opened the door, all the handsets would ring once. This allowed us to be anywhere on the property and still be alerted when the reception door was opened.

We are looking for a solution to this using 3CX.

Possible ideas:
  • Is there a command line tool? I could create a script to ring a call group and hang up after say 2 seconds.
  • Using an intercom somehow? Do they have aux inputs? I have no experience with them.

You will need an IP doorbell unit. 2N makes an excellent range which we have used in a few clients. Pricey, but top notch!

Do they have an input for the door sensor? The door is always open during business hours and can't rely on a customer to press a button.

The only thing that might work, in a similar manner (although having all the phones ring once would be a bit annoying to most people), would be to have door sensor seize an ATA line, speed dial a ring group that is comprised of all of the extensions, then hang up after a timed period (one ring).

It would make more sense to simply have the door sensor trigger a door bell chime (or multiple, if a large office), that would be recognised as the front door being opened.
 
If you have an existing door sensor then most likely it was connecting to either an FXO or FXS port on the previous system. You would just need need an appropriate ATA to re-create that same connection. And then that ATA would have to be configured to autodial a ring group.
 
Another product might fit your needs as well such as a Cyberdata device or possibly even a PA1. You'd need to get the specs of the door sensor to find out what is currently configured to do and what it can be configured to do first and then find the appropriate SIP device to make things happen.

The 2N stuff are SIP endpoints in themselves, so the latch/bell talk to the 2N intercom unit which in turn talks SIP to 3CX
 
For similar cases we use ATA - Cisco SPA 112.

To do that with a momentary closure (door sensor) could be done with a simple circuit using a 555 timer and relay, or even with a low current relay and large capacitor. You just need to hold the relay closed long enough that it can short the tip and ring of the ATA (through a resistor), and ring the sets in the ring group once. If the door sensor is a momentary open, then another relay (always operated until the door is opened), would have to be placed ahead.
