Hi Chaps

Can you tell me if bridging uses much resource?

I just had an issue with a PBX kind of freeze up to a point where I had active calls stuck that didnt exist, call quality was poor and new calls in werent coming in. Reboot has sorted it but need to know if I need to consider adjusting resources since adding 4 bridge connections?

Hi @kieferschild,

The bridging itself usage is negligible, it can be compared to adding a SIP Trunk. Presence information of relatively small (around 50 users on either side) should also be minimal. If you're dealing with large PBXs such as two systems with 1000 users each, presence information may start using a lot more resources.

This PBX in question has about 100 users on PBX A (one that ive had to reboot) and the other 3 have about 20 max each. I'm not sure how one is to troubleshoot - HDD, RAM and CPU looked fine in the console.

I guess in this instance i'll have to treat it as an anomaly and see how it goes.

Hi @kieferschild,

You're probably right. Treat it like an anomaly for now, if it happens again feel free to let me know.

What may have happened is a short disconnection between master and slave, which may have caused the calls to continue showing on the one side even once reconnected until restarting the management console service. That's just speculation, if it happens again let me know which side is showing the stuck calls.

I dont believe it was calls between sites as I only set it up last Friday and most dont even know about it.

The calls I saw were all to/from the PBX/SIP or internal calls on the same PBX.

It just seems a coincidence that shortly after me implementing bridges, this happens.

I logged in to OVH and the RAM usage had been a solid 95% for the past few weeks - probably the cause.

VPS is 2GB which seems to have not been an issue since it was installed in 2020 and no changes have been made. I'll have to monitor the RAM and see if this happens again.

FYI, OVH has some issues with their monitoring (it is not very accurate) and also, they don't have the best servers, specially if you host in Beauharnois (BHS1).

We're using the london data centre.

The VPSs are cheap enough but their support is sh...
