Restore Notification Email in Failover-Passive

I have new server setup with a virtual server backup running in failover-passive. The notification emails are working on the active server backup, but not the passive server restore. Is it normal not to get a restore notification email?

Can somebody reply if they have a similar setup? I'm trying to avoid having to take up time from support.
