Restoring Backup to an Existing 3CX System

Is it possible to restore a backup to an existing 3CX Debian Linux system without having to re-install? The second system is a backup system in case of failure and I need to restore the backup that I downloaded from the working system.

Sure, and in fact that's how 3CX failover works (backs up and restores on schedule, then if services are down starts them on the failover system)

Just upload the backup and hit restore. Make sure the services are stopped on the backup system or it will conflict.

The backup system is not online, it is turned off and I only turn it on when doing updates and it resides in my office and not onsite with the other online system.

The big thing you have to worry about is the backup system updating the FQDN (if using a 3CX FQDN) when it is online during updates, etc.

You can still restore backups from prod system to it without reinstall.

I just want to add that using the same 3CX License Key on two systems is not supported and WILL cause activation issues unless of course we are talking about a 3CX Failover configuration. From the information in this thread I gather that you are using the same FQDN and both systems hence same License Key but not in a 3CX Failover configuration. If this is the case, I strongly recommend enabling failover (requires ENT License).
