Restricting internal and external calls on an extension

Hi All.

I would like to setup an extension to be able to receive calls but it should not be able to call out at all, whether internal or external calls. It is for a special purpose, the extension should be for only receiving calls only.

If it were just restricting outside calls, then that can be done in the outbound rules (restrictions by extension number), or as I recall, an option in the extension itself. To block internal calls as well requires additional "tweaks". If the phone has an internal dialplan, then it can be set-up to block all numbers. Some sets/ATAs also have a hot-dial feature, so that when the handset is lifted, the set speed dials a number. This could be set to go to the operator, or a voicemail/Queue (or non-existent extension number) that lets the caller know that calls cannot be placed from that set.
