Okay, so just my two cents here. We are back on 3CX after 2 years using Asterisk. It feels good, most processes are flawless (even connecting our really old Linksys overhead paging gateway was easy) and we love the inhouse control we have compared to our previous Asterisk-as-a-service-from-another-party, but there are 2 things that are really irritating. Maybe these irritating things are because we are using 3cx hosting - ??
  1. Why is there no dial code to automate a blind transfer? In the Asterisk world, you can customize a BLF with the transfer code so that, during a call, it's one push for the receptionist to transfer a call to a sales queue. It appears that in the 3CX world, the receptionist has to know the queue's extension number and then manually do the Transfer process, something like Transfer-91-Transfer (at least 4 keys to press).
  2. Why isn't the bulk edit feature better for editing a large batch of IP phones at once? Example - we have all Yealink T46 phones, all users have exactly the same hardware, and we need to change the default ringtone because the default is really obnoxious. I'm finding myself opening up each phone's Phone Provisioning tab just to change ringtones one phone at a time. It's super laborious. Why doesn't the bulk editor include common fields for IP phones? (It does for BLF fields, but not for Provisioning; it doesn't expose the IP phone at all on the Provisioning tab; just the 3CX app).

Am I missing something?

Hello,

1. You can create a custom speed dial in the BLF settings and put it in the queue number. Pressing it during a call should transfer that call there (no dial code needed).

2. While you may have all the same model of phones, extensions can generally have multiple phones assigned to them, each a different brand/model each with different drop down menu options that don't match each other. For BLFs you can multiedit because that does not rely on any specific phone template.

On #1 - sweet! Thanks. It works. This is even better than a dial code! :)
On #2 - I get your logic, but wow, it points to a lot of manual work. Seems to me there's gotta be a better way. Maybe code it so that "if" multiple extensions have the same model phone, it exposes those common fields?

For the time being at least, there is no way that I'm aware of. But for privately-hosted instances you can create custom templates that change the defaults to what you want.

I would not really recommend it as it creates an extra thing you need to be aware of (manually update/maintain them) but it is an option if so required.
