I'm planning to migrate a client from ring central to 3cx. What is the proper way of doing this? Do I just need to call them or fill out a form to transfer the number to the new voip provider? Second question is are the polycom vx-411, vx250 and vx450 and year link w56h tie into ring central? or I can do a reset and reflash it and use it for 3cx? please advise.

thank you

The new SIP provider would port the phone number. It can take a while so you may want to forward calls to a temporary number they give you, or keep both active for a while.
There's a list of supported phones.

thank you.. do you know if those ring central phone from ring central are tie with them? or they flashable to default? ok the polycom phone will work but they are legacy phone so it is not supported anymore. but it will work for the time being.. then when time to purchase new phone we can recommend yealink phone for them and phase out the polycom phone..

For what it's worth, I've come across a number of former Ring Central phones (for sale) and none, up to this point, have been locked down. That's not to say that you're not going to encounter something different, but it's probably worth asking Ring Central, especially if you had originally paid for the sets.

thank you for this info.. i will make sure to ask them if they are locked down and can they be flashed? i'm pretty sure you can flash any polycom phone to default and use it. thank you for the info..

Hi @Song

VVX 250 - VVX 411 - VVX 450
The models are supported and can also work with an SBC in case you wish to deploy a cloud PBX.
Just make sure you follow our guide to reset, flash and provision them the 3CX way.
If the Polycoms have OBi firmware, you will need to read their own guide to convert them to UC firmware.

W56H
This model is just the handset. These usually get paired with a base (ie. W60B) so check which model they have and compare with our supported DECT bases

As for whether they are locked down, you will have to ask them directly.

Sometimes the phone can be linked with their provisioning service and if this is the case you'll need to get them to remove it. In the past i've had to intercept a Yealink and manually provision it to stop it pulling it's config from the provisioning server.
